LocalChat Terms of Use

These terms apply to the LocalChat app, localchat.me website, downloads, public feedback area, and related support channels. By using LocalChat, you agree to use it responsibly and only in ways allowed by applicable law.

Local transfer responsibility

LocalChat helps you send messages, files, media, and call signaling between devices you choose. You are responsible for the content you send, the people or devices you connect with, and whether you have the rights or permission needed to share that content.

Acceptable use

You must not use LocalChat or localchat.me to:

• Share content you do not have the right to send.
• Harass, threaten, impersonate, spam, or deceive other people.
• Send malware, exploit code, credential dumps, or instructions intended to compromise systems.
• Distribute illegal sexual content, non-consensual intimate content, or content exploiting minors.
• Interfere with LocalChat services, feedback moderation, downloads, or other users' devices.

Receiving files and blocking devices

LocalChat includes receive prompts, chat deletion, and blocked-device controls. Review files before opening them, and block devices or delete local history when you no longer want to interact with a device.

Public feedback rules

Feedback submitted on localchat.me may be reviewed before publication. Do not include passwords, private network addresses, personal documents, confidential business information, or other sensitive data in public feedback. We may hide, edit for safety, or delete feedback that violates these terms or creates legal, privacy, security, or product-support risk.

Abuse reports and takedown requests

To report abusive public feedback, privacy concerns, copyright concerns, or other misuse, contact privacy@localchat.me. Include enough detail for us to find the relevant feedback or support exchange. For in-app local transfers, LocalChat usually cannot see the content because it moves between user-selected devices.

Third-party stores and services

App stores, operating systems, and nearby-connectivity providers may apply their own terms, permissions, review rules, and data practices. You are responsible for following those terms when installing or using LocalChat.

No emergency or regulated use

LocalChat is not designed for emergency communications, regulated medical workflows, financial transactions, legal notices, or other uses where delayed, failed, or misdirected delivery could cause serious harm.

Changes

We may update these terms as LocalChat changes. Material updates will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
